Remember SOPA? Well, several large companies with copyrights are trying to reinstitute portions of it under other names and policies, such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership, or Notice and Staydown. Small websites could be held accountable to electronically police media with software they can't afford, and private agreements that could be used to bully small companies into excluding protected content are all being proposed now by Big Media.

I just heard some very disturbing news. A new version of SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Acts) is on the verge of being passed. If it does, all fanart, fanfiction, and fan-made videos could be considered "piracy" and removed. If you don't want that to happen, sign the petition against it here: https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/stop-sopa-2014/q0Vkk0ZrRead more >
