Papaya and Weasel
Papaya&Weasel
Lyricist Lisa Melbye
Composer Daniel Ingram
Steffan Andrews (orchestration)[1]
Sung by Carlos Alazraqui (as Solo),

John DiMaggio (as Niblet), and Michael Rapaport (as Squirt)

From "Lord of the Fleas"

"Papaya and Weasel" is the conjectural title of a song that Solo sings about his new "friends" on the island, a pig/hog and a weasel. In some ways, it is a parody of the song "Hakuna Matata" from Walt Disney Animation's 32nd animated film The Lion King.

Lyrics

[Solo]
Papaya and Weasel, that's the name of these guys
The pig and the weasel who helped me realize
That being lazy is the best thing to do
That's their point of view, and I like it, too
Nothing's too important when you throw away your cares
Papaya and Weasel
Niblet: Those guys are creepy-looking, but I kind of like their philosophy.
Squirt: Me too! Tell us more, Solo.
[Solo]
Papaya and Weasel, I just met 'em today
They're a pig and a weasel, but I can understand everything they say
He sleeps in a hammock, squandering most the day
This guy belches and
Papaya: [belches]
Digs in the sand
Papaya

It's me,
[Solo, Niblet, and Squirt]
Papaya, and Weasel!

Trivia

  • Niblet's line about liking their philosophy is a reference to the song "Hakuna Matata", where one line of the lyrics is "It's our problem-free philosophy, Hakuna Matata."
